Detox Foot Pads: Scam or Miracle?

Detox foot pads are some little patches full of a special mix of herbs and minerals, which are supposed to have the property of extracting toxins from your body when in contact with your feet. These pads need to be attached on the feet during the night sleep. The scientific principle that's behind this magic body cleansing is called osmosis.

Osmosis is an exchange of substances between to bodies in contact, at micro-cellular level. This means that the herbs in those little pouches interact with our skin pores, thus extracting toxins that we've accumulated inside the body. The results are related to the improvement of the general health status, a better metabolism, better functioning of the internal organs and more energy for accomplishing our daily tasks.

There are people who claim the pads work like a charm: they are using them on regular basis and they say their health has improved ever since. One of their proves is that after a night of using them, the pads turn from white to dark brown and they smell bery bad, which could translate as consequence of toxins leaving the body and entering the detox foot pads.

Is thir true? Some curious guys did a test and kepts such a foot pad over some hot water. They obtained the same result: brown and stinky pads, which looked like they've got extracted the toxins from that boiling water.

Do I believe in the magic of herbal medicine and in the healing power of these patches? Not exactly. However, I think that each human being is unique and what kills me for you may do wonders of healing. This is why I believe nobody should reject an idea from the start, until they haven't got to try it on themselves. Who knows, they may feel better, thanks to the placebo effect.
