Valea Prahovei Location

Valea Prahovei, which means Prahova Valley, is one of the touristic regions of Romania. It is located at about 100 km North from Bucharest, the capital of the country. Although not so far away from the Henri Coanda International Airport, there are days, especially in weekends, when the road gets very crowded so you can expect to drive more than three hours in order to get to the mountains resorts. A motorway is in discussion to be built, but it will probably take a lot of time and money, as there are areas where the relief is very difficult.

Lately, people who seek to buy land in such touristic areas have the chance to get excellent deals, as the prices went down over the past three-four months considerably. If you go there, you'll see a lot of banners which say "teren de vanzare", which means land for sale. You can even buy a ready-made house if you wish.

Valea Prahovei Resorts

The most popular touristic resorts are Sinaia, Azuga, Busteni, Predeal and Poiana Brasov. All of them have ski slopes with various difficulty grades, the mountains being covered in snow from November to March. However, over the past years, it seems that there's been a climate change, so the snow was rather scarce.

If you enjoy playing golf, you can book a golf vacation at Lac de Verde, in Breaza, and take advantage of the excellent facilities offered by this golf club. You can either take golf lessons, or participate in championships that are organized every now and then. The four stars hotel has 20 rooms and it is placed at 600m altitude, over some hills. You can choose from several types of rooms. Personally, I liked most the apartments in the Club House. What's cool, is that you are not allowed to walk inside the resport, so you can ask for room service to get your meals, or take one of those golf carts and eat in the restaurant.
